Abstract :
This paper presents a theoretical and experimental analysis of the electromagnetic vibration and noise emission of an external rotor traction permanent magnet motor. A comparison between a simplified analysis using a linear model and a finite element analysis of electromagnetic exciting force has been presented. The experimental validation allows using this approach in future permanent magnet motor designs
