Abstract :
A new DC power source for online monitoring of transmission-line current has been developed that utilizes a differential current transformer with two secondary windings, a control circuit, and a Li-battery pack to provide additional power as needed for the monitoring device. Results show that the new power system allows operation over a wide range of transmission-line currents.
