Abstract :
Summary form only given. When the blackout occurred on August 14, 2003 it was completely unexpected. On August 15, 2003 President Bush and Prime Minister Chretien established a Joint US-Canadian Power Outage Task Force to investigate cause and to make recommendations about how to avoid future occurrences. The task force created three working groups to perform the actual investigation. In this talk we report on the structure and activities of the Electric System Working group.
