Abstract :
In order to improve the security of biometric, a heart sound identification system is discussed in this paper. By introducing the Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficient (MFCC) feature extraction and Vector Quantization (VQ) matching model algorithm, the heart sound is shown to apply to human identification. For illustration, an identification system using PC´s sound card and electronic stethoscope to record heart sound signals is developed in LabVIEW. Empirical results show that the system gets a high accurate identification rate. The heart sound identification system based on MFCC feature extraction and VQ matching model can effectively solve the insecurity of biometric identification and will become a new identification method.
