Abstract
A dial-in World-Wide Web information service for use within an local community is described. Using standard modem, LAN, and WWW hardware and software, a low-cost information server can be designed such that residents of the community can access large amounts of current information about their local community. The service has many advantages and can provide access to information on current events, schools, libraries, business home pages, databases, photographs, graphics, and other relevant information about the community
