Abstract :
In this paper we present real-time system for embedding of digital watermark in images. The production and distribution of multimedia data in digital format, raises the intellectual property rights (IPR) protection problem, since the digital data can be easily copied without quality degradation. With digital watermarking, information containing origin, status, and/or destination of the data, can be imperceptibly and robustly embedded in the host data. As a consequence, the watermark should survive against unintentional attacks such as common image processing and/or hostile intentional attacks which may occur to destroy the watermark. This paper describes an efficient watermarking algorithm using spatial domain technique. Descriptions of watermark insertion-verification ´C code and a real-time implementation of the insertion mechanism, running on TITMS320C6711 DSP are given. The paper is organized as follows: after this short introduction, the algorithm steps are presented, followed by special consideration regarding the real-time implementation on TI´s TMS320C6711 DSP. Applications of watermarking process in real-time are also described.
