Abstract
The self and mutual inductances of a 3-phase induction machine are calculated under healthy and broken rotor bars conditions using the finite element model of the machine. This method is more precise than the winding function approach, as it is based on the actual geometry of the machine and the machine model can easily be modified in order to study the effect of faults on the machine´s performance. A precise evaluation of the inductances contributes to the study and reliable detection of faults in the machine
