Abstract :
Following a brief overview of the IN architecture presenting the major aspects of IN such as centralized data, intelligence and management for advanced services based on dedicated nodes in the telephone network, the authors explain how standardised interfacing between these nodes allows service interworking, interoperability and rapid nationwide coverage. Supporting this IN architecture, a service-independent software development structure is implemented, consisting of reusable components and a totally integrated software creation environment. The technical issues addressed by IN to guarantee user mobility and service personalisation are presented. Four network solutions related to user mobility are described
