Abstract :
This paper presents an overview of conventional devices with nonlinear voltage-current characteristics of harmonic sources for the power system harmonic analysis. The harmonic sources with nonlinear voltage-current characteristics to be reviewed include iron-core reactors, transformers, rotating machines, and arc furnaces. The generating characteristics and modeling methods of these sources are reviewed and summarized in this paper.
