Abstract
Accurate positioning within a range of 1 or 2m using satellite navigation receivers indoors is currently prevailed by signal blockage, reflection and diffraction. To increase the positioning accuracy, knowledge about the propagation channel is essential. Therefore, the German Aerospace Center (DLR) conducted measurements in the scope of the satellite-to-indoor wave propagation for later channel modelling. As an essential tool for algorithm testing in order to improve the positioning accuracy, the channel model needs to be suitable designed and implemented for the use case. Within this contribution, we describe the basic concept of a satellite-to-indoor channel model emphasizing the multipath components being able to represent the spatial characteristics of the propagation channel.
