Abstract :
Multispectral image fusion process is an active research area due to hardware limitations of most of satellites. This process produces significant color distortion in the resultant fused image using most of the methods available in literature. In this paper, novel NDVI control based high frequency injection method is proposed to reduce color distortion. From experiments, it is found that the amount of high frequency injection into MS image is related to the NDVI. We proposed NDVI controlled K factor computation method which provides the best tradeoff solution. It has been observed from the simulation results that the proposed method gives the best tradeoff between the spatial and spectral CC compared to other standard algorithms. The color distortion is significantly decreases in fused image with the better perceived quality.
