Abstract :
The article explored the relationship between individual cognitive style related with psychological type and transformational-transactional leadership style. After the investigation of 222 leaders, the results indicated: (1) Most of Chinese leaders belong to the cognitive style of sensing, thinking, and judging; (2) the cognitive factors that influence leadership style are: the style about deriving energy (extraversion-introversion) and focusing attention (sensing-intuition); (3) the cognitive style and leadership style are significantly different owing to different gender, age, seniorities and positions.
