Abstract
With the introduction of restructuring in the electric power industry, the price and the availability of electricity have become primary issues for participating entities. This paper reviews the constructive translation of wastelands into a revenue producing energy sector. The paper further discusses energy generation alternatives that can be implemented in brownfields and the conversion from a brownfield into high efficiency power parks. The paper highlights two ongoing brownfiled projects and reviews their feasibility in restructured power systems.
