Abstract
DC driven mine hoists have been around a very long time. The large SCR based DC drives have been in use the last five years. The problems inherent in configuring a mine hoist drive are of such a concern to be worthy of a technical paper. Here, the authors describe how system integration was the key to a successful effort in reconfiguring an older main mine payload hoist design into an improved modern operating system
