Abstract :
Hydro-viscous soft start is widely used in large- capacity belt conveyor. This paper analyzed the response characteristics of soft start system, compared the conventional PID control with the genetic algorithm optimized PID control, and performed simulation to the process of soft start by using Simulink toolbox in MATLAB software. The results show that the system´s overshoot and adjustment time are greatly reduced by using genetic algorithm optimization, they can better meet the requirements of the soft starting process. The experiments verified the correctness of theoretical analysis.
