Abstract
This paper describes some of the activities of Working Group 2 of COST Project 235 on radiowave propagation effects on next-generation fixed-services terrestrial telecommunications systems. Working Group 2 is concerned with the “flat-fade” effects on such systems, including absorption and dispersion by atmospheric gases, attenuation and scattering by hydrometeors, especially by rain and the effects of atmospheric turbulence manifested in scintillation phenomena
