Abstract
A new approach to permittivity measurement applied to loss materials is examined. The method proposed is based on the utilisation of a waveguide bridge and the precise knowledge of the field. Liquid dielectrics are the main focus, but the approach applies to other materials. A finite element method is used near to the dielectric. A modal decomposition is employed far from the source. Experimental measurement acquisition reveals a standing wave curve between two samples. The experimental results are compared to the theoretical curves
