Abstract :
We investigate an alternative method of the numerical analysis of the quasi-optical resonator modes. The resonator is viewed as a waveguide transverse to its axis. The fields of the resonator modes are expanded in the form of the guide modes, which are coupled by the change of the waveguide cross section, the mirrors edges, etc. The amplitudes of the modes are derived from a system of ordinary differential equations. The boundary conditions for the amplitudes are obtained by the generalized scattering matrices method
