Abstract :
In this paper, a novel method to implement capacitive coupling in planar (H-plane) waveguide filters is presented. It is shown that the signs of the coupling coefficients are, in certain situations, reversed from the predictions of the simpler given model. The principles of the change in the signs of coupling coefficients are presented and investigated in detail. A 3-pole H- plane example filter with a transmission zero (TZ) below the passband is designed to demonstrate the validity of the introduced method.
