Abstract :
A new type of SSPA that automatically operates in burst mode is developed. The proposed SSPA achieves 12 watt output in the 14 GHz band with the drastic suppression of power consumption at low duty ratios. It is compatible with existing TDMA systems and enables the replacement of current TWTAs in Earth stations.<>
