Abstract
A brief multirate Z -transform description of the periodically reverse switched capacitor is followed by the linking of comb filters to discretized analog first-order Butterworth filters. This makes it possible to generalize comb filters by discretizing higher order analog Butterworth filters. Moreover, the analog counterparts of these comb filters can also be determined; they are called power filters. The class of comb filters is further expanded by the addition of moving-average filters. Apodization and limited podization processes are discussed. Realizations of primitive comb filters and moving-average filters with operational amplifiers and switched capacitors are given
