Abstract
The Grand (Peking-Hangzhou) Canal and its areas in Hangzhou are getting decadency; the environment is contaminated by the end of last century. Regeneration of Canal and its area is a part of Hangzhou city regeneration program. The local government used the concept of city governance and Market-oriented methods. In the conservation program the infrastructures had been created, dwelling situation had been proved and industrial had been transformed. It is a successful course for canal and its area´s renaissance.
