Abstract :
This paper proposes a new navigation system, TDRS/INS integrated navigation system (TDRSI), for flight vehicles in near space. TDRSI overcomes the blackout phenomenon in near space by selecting a very high carrier frequency for the TDRS link. TDRSI adopts the Kalman filtering algorithm which utilizing TDRS pseudorange information to improve INS navigation results. Navigation results are transmitted to the ground through the TDRS link, thus both the flight vehicle and the ground command and control center can obtain navigation results.
