Summary form only given. Our panel contribution describes four different ONR supported research efforts led by an individual researcher or a team of researchers from Drexel University´s Center for electric power engineering, two of them in collaboration with a local consulting company, F&H Applied Science Assoc. Inc., and in collaboration with the NAVSEA, Naval Surface Warfare Center, now located at the Philadelphia Shipyards. In addition we present different funding mechanisms and programs at ONR.
