Abstract
An overview is presented of the application of mm wave technology in the infrastructures of Personal Communication Networks (PCNs) and associated telecommunications services in Europe, with particular emphasis on the United Kingdom. The current European situation regarding standards and frequency allocations will also be addressed, as will the projected future developments in civil millimetre wave applications.<>
