Abstract
The authors illustrate two alternative methods for distribution system reliability evaluation. The first method developed at UMIST in conjunction with UK´s electricity supply industry and second developed at University of Sarajevo in conjunction with Yugoslavian electricity supply industry. The reliability results predicted by the two methods, for the two practically based distribution systems, are very close. The authors also describe and demonstrate different sensitivity studies such as: effects of alternative design characteristics, different failure and restoration modes, environmental factors and the effect of PLOC events by two alternative methods
