Abstract :
Switching off fault fast is a low investment, high effect method to make power system transient stable. In this paper, the development process of current differential protection is presented together with detailed analysis of recent current phase differential protection theories. Furthermore, a novel current differential protection method which composed of simultaneous sampling value of three-phase current is presented. The validity of the proposed method is fully validated using EMTP simulation. Simulation results show that the method is effective and reliable.
