An Exploratory Study on Appraisal Index System of Independent Colleges´ Credibility

Independent Colleges, as a new model of higher education reform and development, has undergone an unprecedented developing over the past decade, and has gradually become an important part of higher education in China. However, while Independent Colleges has been developing rapidly, its lack of credibility has become one focus of attention in our society. It has become imperative that how to construct a set of evaluation index system of credibility of Independent Colleges to promote the development of Independent Colleges in China on the basis of Scientific Outlook on Development. Our empirical study found that the four-dimensional index system, which consists of organization mission and objectives, public information, fundraising, as well as fund use, is one of programs to assess credibility of Independent Colleges.
