Abstract :
Depending on characteristics information of the captured license plate image, this paper locates the approximate license plate by window scanning based on edge gradient, and then locates the accurate license plate area through edge detection and projection. It completes the algorithm on the hardware platform of Hi3515. Testing results showed that the studied technology in license plate location has a strong adaptability and accuracy to the environment.
