Abstract
This paper describes the fundamental characteristics and experimental results of a newly developed electronically tunable dielectric resonator (DR) band-stop filter. The tuning configuration employed consists of a microstrip line ring loaded with GaAs varactor diodes. The tuning circuit has been developed to produce large variation in the dielectric resonator´s fundamental TE01δ mode resonant frequency without affecting its quality factor significantly. The 4-pole filter fabricated is compact and light weight, exhibiting a tuning bandwidth of 58 MHz with steep attenuation slope
