Abstract :
This paper presents a MHz electronic ballast, which avoids the intrinsic problem of acoustic resonance of HID lamps. A novel three order LPF is adopted, which decreases lamp current crest factor and increases the lamp life. The circuit runs with the soft switch mode, which achieves better performance of EMC and higher efficiency on MHz frequency operation. Its validity is proved by both theoretical analysis and experimental results.
