Abstract :
This paper presents studies into the reduction of electrical contact bounce for an electronically controlled and intelligent new-type contactor. The controlling approach is based on dynamically tracking the position trajectory of movable electromagnet and then timing coil energized periods. The applied coil voltage is modulated by means of PWM (pulse width modulation) the period of the power element driving signals. Controlling approach is verified through the new-type contactor prototype which is constructed in our laboratory and some useful results are obtained. By observing the experimental results, it proving that our proposed control approach is actually feasible
