Abstract :
A Successful real time knowledge repository is essential for the prosperity of a Nation. The ability to access meaningful data in a timely manner through the centralized platform is vital for the Knowledge Management. The dominant method for replenishing the repository is to use Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) tools that give up-to-date data. This practice is hampered by the problems of integrating the diverse forms of data. This paper examines the importance of National Knowledge Repositories, Open Source Databases, ETL tools, Digital Knowledge Repositories and Data Harvesting software´s available in the market. Also, this study formulates and describes the sequence of steps to centralize the knowledge-base by leveraging ETL tools and to promote Open Access using Open Source Software. The best approaches and practices described in this paper will create a new avenue between researchers and academicians towards the key terms called National Knowledge Repositories and Knowledge Management and will also have great impact on Open Access Initiative and Open Source Software.
