Abstract :
A new approach to the decomposition of the characteristic variables of three-phase system in Common Mode (CM) e Differential Mode (DM) variables is here presented. This decomposition illustrates an immediate physical interpretation thanks to its relation with the Clarke Transformation. Some examples that emphasize the importance of the results are also shown.
