Abstract :
The paper describes the creation of a tactical communication simulation training system (TCSTS) based on virtual reality (VR). The system can train the soldiers without real equipment, reduce high cost, and improve efficiency. At first, the paper presents the system design based on its military requirements. Secondly, the key technology is detailed. 3D modeling and equipment operation rules are put forward. At last, the challenges associated with realization of the system and the simulation examples are brought forward. The development of TCSTS provides beneficial reference for constructing similar large scale equipment operation simulation training system.
