  • Abstract
In the frame of investigation of the dielectric strength of high-voltage vacuum devices, methods of charges measurement in the bulk and on the surface of the envelope were developed. The charge in the operating tube and also the charge accumulated after switching-off the tube were measured. Charge distribution along the length of the envelope was measured and the influence of operating modes on this distribution was studied. The regularity of formation of charges was revealed, and variation of the dielectric strength of the device was compared with variation of values and signs of the surface and space charges
