Abstract :
In this paper a project-oriented lab for teaching embedded and cross platform programming is presented. The goal of the lab is to increase students´ interest of learning embedded systems, and promote their programming skills on both the embedded environment and PC platform by using UML based design, C and C# languages. In addition to the hardware and software skills, specific requirement for teamwork and development process are also discussed. Through the project lab, students are encouraged to communicate with each other to solve the development problems. The feedback shows that the project-oriented embedded lab really motivates the students learning ambition, and flexibly uses their already learned knowledge and skills.
