Abstract :
Providing wireless video streaming services is challenging task in Wi-MAX network. Supporting Quality of Service (QoS) requirements in video streaming while enhancing throughput, always remain a challenge. We want to solve the problem that when base station transmits the data in a multicast super-frame, mobile stations can collect their data such that the total awake time of mobile stations is minimal thereby reducing the energy consumption. This paper presents a QoS Aware Approximation Scheduling Algorithm (QAAS) to guarantee QoS while improving throughput. QAAS algorithm is simulated in network simulator and observed throughput surpasses existing algorithms: Sub-stream Selection Algorithm (SSA), Earliest Deadline First (EDF) Algorithm and Energy Efficient Sub-stream Allocation Algorithm (EESA).
