Abstract :
This paper presents a low cost and high performance evanescent-mode bandpass filter with 20 MHz channel passband for a 5 GHz U-NII band radio transceiver. The design combines the advantage of a ridge waveguide structure and rigorous electromagnetic models for the structure analysis and optimization for low cost fabrication. This filter is suitable for high volume production and provides 1.5-2.5 dB of insertion loss with a stopband attenuation of more than 65 dB up to 14 GHz.
