Abstract :
This paper describes an audio video decoder for digital TV, digital set top box, and cable box. It contains an integrated, high performance 2D graphic engine and several display processors. The video decoder is a MP@HL decoder, which supports all ATSC/Grand Alliance standard formats. It can decode from several digital or analog sources, and the PIP feature is supported from any source. The audio decoder is an MPEG 1, 2, AC3 6 channels decoder with PCM overlay support. A standard definition display output is provided in parallel with the main display output, giving an auxiliary VCR output.
