Abstract :
A method for improving the performance of adaptive disturbance accommodation control (DAC) controllers by adding a trend-learning capability is described. This modification significantly extends the range of plant parameter perturbations that can be accommodated by the controller. The modified controller, called a learning-adaptive DAC controller, is demonstrated by a worked example and the results of a computer simulation study. The ideas and techniques presented form the foundation for an advance in practical adaptive control using DAC theory
