Abstract
The measurement of apparent charge may be achieved by using very different detection techniques. In classical analog systems, there is a lack of very important information: the value of the applied voltage which induces the discharge and the time instant in which it occurs, The authors propose a system allowing the measurement of the apparent charge by direct analog integration of the current pulse, the corresponding value of the applied voltage and the time instant in which partial discharges occur. The above mentioned instrumentation is able to automatically detect, measure and store in a large size memory the three measured values. It is also possible to track the real time evolution of the partial discharges. This work presents moreover first results in experimental activities. The system is configured for the evaluation of all parameters listed in IEC270 standard. Furthermore, other kinds of information can be achieved. It is shown that the proposed system is able to combine the typical analysis of both “time resolved systems” and “phase related systems”
