Abstract :
An optimal H∞ single-input multi-output (SIMO) tracking problem is studied for distributed parameter system. It is shown that the performance of optimal tracking controller have severe limitations due to the distributed nature of system. As a case study we design a tracking controller for flexible beam where control objectives are both tip position tracking and deflection suppression
