  • Abstract
This passage mainly studies the effects of ruptured wire loads on high pressure transmission tower, when the wires linked the tower break. Normally, the transmission wires are strained, but while there are defects on wires or effects of explosion and thunder on the wires, these wires may break, which will causes considerable impact effects on tower. Nevertheless in current Tower Design Code, the ruptured wire loads are regarded as static ones without considering dynamic effects of ruptured wire loads. However, the results calculated by FLM reflect that ruptured wire loads have much larger impact effects on tower. While the landlines are intact, the impacts will be larger and larger with number of ruptured wires rising.
