Abstract
Low-carbon economy is characterized by low energy consumption, low pollution and low emission. Such kind of economic development mode has brought great challenge to Chinese economy. It is unavoidable that heavy chemical industrial based Chinese industry has to consume large quantity of energies and resources during its progress, resulting in the unprecedented environmental pressure, resource pressure and climate pressure. The thesis has introduced the connotation of low-carbon economy and explains that the economic structure of high-carbon energy is not beneficial to the sustainable development of Chinese economy by establishing model. Instead, low-carbon development road is entailed for the development of Chinese economy; several suggestions are also proposed for its development.
