Abstract :
The waste materials that are produced daily from different sources can be used to produce energy from which we can get electricity. The conventional fuels required for production of electricity is decreasing day by day and it is very important to find out alternative sources which can be used as the fuel for the production of electricity especially for developing countries like Bangladesh. This paper discusses waste materials as a renewable energy source. The paper explores the resources we have ready in our hand as well as the advantages and disadvantages of the using of waste materials as a source of electrical energy. The paper also reviews a few waste to energy projects in some other parts of the world and discusses the future of extracting energy from waste materials in Bangladesh.
