Abstract :
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock has developed a course and established a laboratory form a grant from the National Science Foundation to perform experiments and projects in the area of automated data acquisition and control. This course is intended to provide technical currency for its engineering technology students who most often go on to industrial positions that require a knowledge of data measurement and process control techniques. In addition to serving the needs for engineering technology majors, this interdisciplinary course is designed to provide theoretical instruction and practical training to physics, chemistry, and biology majors, and to practicing professionals as well. This paper discusses the considerations in developing the course and associated laboratory, provides an outline of the syllabus, and concludes with the details of the experiments
