Abstract :
The global deployment of the synchronous optical network (SONET) increases the quality of service (QoS) of telecommunication network significantly. At the same time, management of the fast growing telecommunication management networks has become an important issue. Within the context of TMN, management refers to a set of capabilities to allow for the exchange and processing of management information in an open system environment to assist administrations more efficiently. OSI system management services and protocols are provided to TMN as a subset of management capabilities. Modeling, analysis, and development of the TMN communication services and protocols is essential to the stability and survivability of the underlying network
