Abstract :
A high-voltage detector that can be integrated into a SPIC (Smart Power IC) is proposed in this paper. The theory of the structure is based on the normal junction terminal technique of a FFLR (Floating Field Limiting Rings) system. The field limiting rings act as a voltage divider for surface field optimizing. The voltage of the main junction increases from 0 to a high voltage and the utmost N+-ring can be designed to vary in a few voltages, which can be handled in low voltage logic circuits in a 600V SPIC. The rings system is analyzed and simulated for this structure. Results prove that the high voltage detector can detect high voltage in a SPIC. The structure doesn´t require any additional processes and is compatible with CMOS or BCD technology
