Abstract :
In this paper, the minimization of power consumption in oversampled data converters is examined. The most constraining specifications for power are resolution and speed. It is of prime importance to select the appropriate converter architecture, modulator order and oversampling ratio. The impact of the technology on the power consumption is also discussed. A design strategy is proposed in order to minimize the power dissipated by amplifiers and to select the most suited architecture
